Today’s the fourth installment in our 30 ways to use video for your business or organization.

Number 4: Social Media

Of course, you knew it would be on this list, right? Social Media is today’s version of “word of mouth” marketing. And video is one the best ways to be social.

Social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin, Google+ and Instagram have become essential components of most organizations’ marketing strategies. These sites need to be updated frequently, and absolutely must contain content that subscribers find interesting and relevant: content that video does an excellent job capturing.

This could humorous outtakes from another video, or videos about community engagement (such as Ice Bucket Challenges or community service days). It could include testimonials that folks share with their networks, or it could be user-generated videos that you help promote to others in your community.

Video is very powerful, and even more so when utilized in social media! A BI Intelligence Report asserts that video, found by the user via social media, had a far higher “finish rate” than videos found via other channels. There is a reason why Facebook added video – and especially, auto-play video – to your news streams.

Social proof encourages viewers to watch longer because the video has been endorsed by someone in their network.

The essence of social media is to connect and share content with others electronically. Video aligns perfectly with this mission! A short video can deliver a strong message (i.e. content), and can apply humanization to a brand (i.e. connection), which is precisely what companies are trying to do with social media; not to mention video makes social media much more dynamic.

At Seven G Media, we can add extra edits to your videos that are formatted for specific platforms such as Twitter, Snapchat, Vine, or Instragram. We can also help with Director’s Cut edits that customize your main video (that is embedded on your website) so that you have unique videos (which search engines like Google like) for platforms like LinkedIn, Facebook and YouTube/Google+.
